From Napatree Point Conservation Area, head northeast on Napatree Rd toward Atlantic Ave. Continue on Atlantic Ave for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Old Beach Rd. Turn right onto Old Beach Rd and follow it until you reach the junction with Route 1. Take a left onto Route 1 North. Continue on Route 1 for approximately 8 miles until you reach the exit for Route 2 toward Charlestown. Merge onto Route 2 and turn left onto Narragansett Trail. The Francis C Carter Memorial Preserve will be on your right. There is no entry fee for the preserve.

From Napatree Point Conservation Area, walk to the nearest bus stop on Atlantic Ave. Take the R.I. Public Transit (RIPTA) bus number 14 or 66 towards South Kingstown. Get off at the stop on Route 1 near Charlestown, which is approximately a 20-minute ride. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles north to reach the Francis C Carter Memorial Preserve located on Narragansett Trail. Note that the bus fare is $2.00 for a single ride.
