If you are traveling by car from Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge, head northwest on Trustom Pond Road toward Kingstown Road. Continue on Kingstown Road for about 3 miles until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Take a left onto Route 1 South and drive for approximately 4 miles. Take the exit for Route 138 East toward URI. After about 1.5 miles, take a right onto Shannock Road. Continue on Shannock Road until you reach the end, where you will find Shannock Whitewater near the Shannock River.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, first take a bus from Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge to Wakefield. You can catch the RIPTA Route 66 from the nearest bus stop on Kingstown Road. After about a 20-minute ride, get off at the Wakefield bus terminal. From there, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to reach Shannock Whitewater, as public transport options are limited in that area. The taxi ride should take approximately 15 minutes and cost around $15-$20.

If you prefer biking, you can ride from Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge. Start by heading northwest on Trustom Pond Road and then take a left onto Route 1 South. Continue biking for about 4 miles until you reach the exit for Route 138 East. Follow this route for about 1.5 miles, then take a right onto Shannock Road. The total biking distance is approximately 10 miles, and it should take around 1 hour depending on your speed.
