Getting There

  • Car

    Start from the main parking area at Napatree Point Conservation Area. Head northwest on Shore Road towards the intersection with Atlantic Avenue. Once you reach the intersection, turn left onto Atlantic Avenue. Continue on Atlantic Avenue until it becomes Watch Hill Road. Follow Watch Hill Road until you reach the junction with Route 1. Merge onto Route 1 North. Continue for approximately 3 miles. Take exit 1B for Route 78 West towards Westerly. Follow Route 78 for about 2 miles until you reach the intersection with Moorehouse Road. Turn left onto Moorehouse Road and continue for about 0.5 miles. Wahaneeta Preserve will be on your right at 118 Moorehouse Rd, Westerly, RI 02891.

    From Napatree Point Conservation Area, walk to the nearest bus stop located at Main Street and Post Road. Take the RIPTA bus #66 towards Westerly. Stay on the bus for approximately 20 minutes, and get off at the Moorehouse Road stop. Walk about 10 minutes along Moorehouse Road, and Wahaneeta Preserve will be located at 118 Moorehouse Rd, Westerly, RI 02891. Please check the RIPTA schedule for the latest bus timings and fares.

    If you prefer to cycle, start from Napatree Point Conservation Area and head northwest on Shore Road towards Atlantic Avenue. Turn left onto Atlantic Avenue, then continue onto Watch Hill Road.
