If you're traveling by car, head towards Sachuest Point Road in Middletown. From downtown Newport, take Memorial Boulevard (Route 138) and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Sachuest Point Road. Turn left onto Sachuest Point Road and follow it for about 3 miles. Second Beach will be on your right at 315 Sachuest Point Rd, Middletown, RI 02842. Keep an eye out for the beach sign. Note that parking is available, but it is cash only.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) Route 60 from the Newport Gateway Center. Ride the bus towards Middletown and get off at the 'Sachuest Point Rd at Second Beach' stop. From there, it’s a short walk to Second Beach (a few minutes). Biking
If you're feeling adventurous and want to bike, you can rent a bike in Newport. Head down the East Bay Bike Path, which is scenic and well-maintained. Follow the bike path until you reach the junction with Sachuest Point Road, then turn left. It’s about a 5-mile ride from the bike path to Second Beach, and the route is relatively flat. Be sure to wear a helmet and follow all biking regulations.
Walking
If you're staying close to Second Beach, you can walk there. From nearby hotels or residences in Middletown, head towards Sachuest Point Road. Depending on your starting point, it might take 15-30 minutes to reach the beach on foot. Be cautious of traffic when crossing roads.
