Getting There

• Bus

  From downtown Providence, head to the nearest bus stop on Kennedy Plaza. Take the RIPTA Route 60 bus towards Jamestown. Stay on the bus for approximately 30-40 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to Fort Wetherill State Park, which is on Fort Wetherill Road. From the bus stop, it's a short walk (about 10 minutes) to the park entrance.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local rental service in Providence. Head south on South Main Street, then take a right onto the East Bay Bike Path. This scenic route will lead you along the waterfront towards Jamestown. Once you reach Jamestown, follow local signs to Fort Wetherill State Park, which is about a 7-mile ride from downtown Providence. The park is situated on Fort Wetherill Road.

• Walking

  For adventurous walkers, you can take a long but scenic route. Start at Waterplace Park in downtown Providence and walk south along the river. Cross the Point Street Bridge and follow the waterfront path leading to the East Bay Bike Path. Continue on the path towards Jamestown, which will take about 2 to 2.5 hours of walking. Once you reach Jamestown, locate Fort Wetherill State Park on Fort Wetherill Road.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  For a more direct route, consider taking a taxi or rideshare service like Uber or Lyft from anywhere in Providence. Simply input 'Fort Wetherill State Park, 3 Fort Wetherill Rd, Jamestown, RI' as your destination. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes, depending on traffic.
