Walking
From the heart of College Hill, start by heading down Benefit Street towards the east. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with South Main Street. Turn left onto South Main Street and walk north. After a few minutes, you will come across the Rhode Island State House on your right. Continue walking straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Weybosset Street. Turn right onto Weybosset Street, and Custom House will be located at 24 Weybosset St, just a short walk ahead on your right.
Public Transit (Bus)
If you prefer to take public transit, you can catch the RIPTA bus from College Hill. Look for bus route 1 or 2 at the nearest bus stop (check the local schedule for exact stops). Ride the bus towards Downtown Providence. After a short ride of approximately 10-15 minutes, disembark at the Weybosset St stop. From there, walk a couple of minutes to 24 Weybosset St, where Custom House is located. Note that the bus fare is $2.00.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, consider renting a bike to get to Custom House. You can find bike rental stations near Brown University or the RISD campus. Once you have a bike, navigate down Benefit Street and follow the same route as walking. Keep an eye out for bike lanes as you approach Downtown. When you reach Weybosset Street, secure your bike at a bike rack and walk the final steps to Custom House located at 24 Weybosset St.
