Walking
If you are starting from the Providence Place Mall, exit the mall and head east on Providence Place toward the intersection with Memorial Blvd. Continue straight for about 0.2 miles until you reach the intersection with South Main Street. Turn left onto South Main Street and walk for about 0.3 miles. The War Memorial will be on your right across from the State House, located at 41.8226989 latitude and -71.4172721 longitude.
Public Transportation (Bus)
From Kennedy Plaza, which is the main bus terminal in Downtown Providence, you can take the R-Line bus towards the University of Rhode Island. After one stop, get off at the 'State House' stop. From there, walk north on North Main Street for about 0.1 miles. The War Memorial will be directly in front of you, across from the State House. Note that a single bus fare is $2.00.
Biking
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike-sharing stations, such as the one located at the corner of Dorrance Street and Washington Street. Once you have a bike, head south on Washington Street, then turn left onto South Main Street. Continue for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with the War Memorial, which will be on your right. Be sure to check the bike rental rates, which typically start around $3.50 for a single ride.
