Turn right onto Washington Street and continue walking for about 0.3 miles. You will pass various shops and restaurants. As you approach the intersection with Market Square, look for signs directing you to Historic Market Square. Once you reach Market Square, the historical landmark will be on your right.

    From the Rhode Island State House, head south on Smith Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Federal Street. Turn right onto Federal Street and walk for about 0.4 miles. You will then come to the intersection with Washington Street. Turn left onto Washington Street and walk until you reach Market Square. The Historic Market Square will be on your left side.

    If you are at Kennedy Plaza, take the R line bus towards the Providence College. Board the bus and stay on for about 5 minutes. Get off at the stop on Washington Street at Market Square. From there, you will see Historic Market Square right in front of you, just a short walk away.

    If you are at Brown University, start by walking south on Prospect Street until you reach Thayer Street. Turn left on Thayer Street and continue until you reach the intersection with Wickenden Street. Turn right onto Wickenden Street and walk straight for about 0.5 miles. This will take you to South Water Street. Turn left and follow South Water Street until it merges into Market Square. Historic Market Square will be ahead.
