Getting There

  • Car

    From Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge, head northwest on Sachuest Point Road. Continue straight to merge onto the RI-138 W ramp toward Newport. After approximately 7 miles, take the exit for I-295 N toward Worcester. Merge onto I-295 N and continue for about 12 miles. Take exit 9A for US-146 N toward Worcester. Continue on US-146 N for about 11 miles. Take exit 1 for RI-104 S. Merge onto RI-104 S, then turn right onto Providence Pike (RI-104). Audubon Fort Wildlife Refuge will be on your right at 1445 Providence Pike, North Smithfield, RI 02896.

    From Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge, walk to the nearest bus stop on RI-138. Take the RIPTA Bus #60 towards Providence. Ride for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the Kennedy Plaza in downtown Providence. From Kennedy Plaza, transfer to Bus #1 (or Bus #55), which heads towards the Woonsocket area. Get off at the stop closest to US-146, and then you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service for the remaining distance to Audubon Fort Wildlife Refuge at 1445 Providence Pike, North Smithfield, RI 02896.
