Car
If you are driving to Kingscote, start by heading to Newport, Rhode Island. From anywhere in South County, take Route 1 North. Follow the signs for Newport and merge onto RI-138 East. Continue on RI-138 until you reach the Newport area. Once in Newport, take the exit for Bellevue Avenue. Kingscote is located at 253 Bellevue Ave, which will be on your right. There is parking available nearby, but be prepared for potential parking fees in the area.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take the RIPTA bus from various locations in South County to Newport. The bus number 60 connects South County to Newport. Check the RIPTA website for the latest schedule. Once you arrive in Newport, you can either walk or take a local taxi service to Kingscote, which is about a 1-mile walk from the bus stop at the Newport Gateway Center. Make sure to plan your trip according to the bus schedules to ensure a timely arrival.
Bicycle
For the more adventurous, consider biking to Kingscote. You can ride along the scenic Ocean Drive, which offers beautiful views of the coastline. If you are starting in South County, you can take Route 1 to RI-138 and then follow the bike paths that lead into Newport. Once you reach Bellevue Avenue, Kingscote will be on your right. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local biking regulations.
