Walking
If you are in the center of Westerly, start by heading south on High Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Canal Street. Turn left onto Canal Street and walk until you reach the intersection with Beach Street. Continue straight on Beach Street as it becomes South Shore Drive. Follow South Shore Drive, which will eventually lead you into Charlestown. After about 3 miles, keep an eye out for Sanctuary Road on your right. Turn right onto Sanctuary Road, and the Kimball Wildlife Refuge will be on your left after a short walk.

Biking
Begin your journey from the center of Westerly, heading south on High Street. After a short distance, turn left onto Canal Street. Follow Canal Street as it turns into Beach Street. You will ride along the scenic shoreline; after about 3 miles, continue straight as Beach Street becomes South Shore Drive. Look for Sanctuary Road on your right after about 2 more miles. Turn right and bike down Sanctuary Road, where Kimball Wildlife Refuge will be on your left.

From the Westerly train station, take the 66 bus towards South Kingstown. Get off at the South Kingstown stop on Route 1. From there, you can walk about 1.5 miles south along Route 1 until you reach the intersection with Sanctuary Road. Turn left onto Sanctuary Road, and after a short walk, you will arrive at Kimball Wildlife Refuge on your left.
