Public Transportation
From Westerly, head to the Westerly Train Station located at 14 Railroad Ave, Westerly, RI 02891. Take the Amtrak Northeast Regional train heading towards Boston. Get off at Kingston Station (approximately a 20-minute ride). Once at Kingston Station, transfer to the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) bus route 66. Board the bus heading towards Newport. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Get off at the Beavertail State Park stop. From there, it's a short walk to the entrance of Beavertail State Park.

If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike in Westerly. Start at the Westerly Town Beach and follow the scenic coastal route north along Route 1 (Post Road) towards Jamestown.
