If you are driving from Bistrița, take the DN17 road towards Năsăud. Continue on DN17 for about 22 km. Once you reach Ciceu-Giurgesti, look for signs directing you to Cetatea Ciceului. The castle is located just a short drive from the main road, and there is parking available near the site.
Public Transportation
To reach Cetatea Ciceului by public transport, start at the Bistrița bus station. Take a bus heading to Năsăud. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Năsăud bus station, transfer to a local minibus or taxi towards Ciceu-Giurgesti. The total cost for the bus ride should be around 10 RON, and the local minibus or taxi may cost an additional 15-20 RON.
Walking
If you decide to walk from Ciceu-Giurgesti, the castle is about 2 km away. Follow the main road towards the direction of the forested area, and you will see signs leading you to Cetatea Ciceului. The path is relatively easy to navigate, but make sure to wear comfortable shoes.
