Getting There

  • Car

    From Poiana Brașov, start by heading west on Poiana Soarelui Road. Follow this road for about 2 km until you reach the junction with Strada Poiana Soarelui. Turn left onto Strada Poiana Soarelui. Continue straight for approximately 1 km until you reach the base of Tâmpa Mountain. There is a parking area on the side of the road where you can safely leave your car. Note that parking may incur a small fee, so be prepared with some cash.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Tâmpa Mountain from Poiana Brașov using public transport, take the local bus (Route 20) from the Poiana Brașov bus station. The bus will take you to the Brașov city center. From there, you will need to switch to Bus Route 4 or 51 towards Tâmpa. Get off at the stop named 'Tâmpa' which is located at the base of the mountain. The bus fare is approximately 5 RON (Romanian Lei) one way, so have some change ready.

  • Walking (from Brașov)

    If you are in Brașov and want to walk to Tâmpa, start from the city square (Piața Sfatului) and head towards Strada Poarta Schei. Continue on this road until you reach Strada Tâmpa, where you will find the footpath leading up to Tâmpa Mountain. The hike is moderate and takes about 1 hour to reach the top. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes and bring water. This option is free, but be aware of the time it will take.
