Travel Guide to Beusnita Waterfall

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving to Beusnita Waterfall, start from the nearest major town, which is Baile Herculane. From Baile Herculane, take DN67D towards Orsova. After approximately 30 km, turn left onto DJ582 towards the Cheile Nerei National Park. Continue on this road for about 10 km until you reach the park entrance. There is usually a small fee to enter the park, so be prepared for that. Once inside, follow the signs for Beusnita Waterfall, which is about a 30-minute drive from the entrance. There is a parking area near the trailhead, where you can leave your car.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, take a train or a bus to Baile Herculane. From there, you will need to catch a local bus heading towards Cheile Nerei National Park. Buses may not run frequently, so it is advisable to check the schedule in advance. Once you arrive at the park entrance, you will need to pay the entrance fee. After entering, you can either hike or take a taxi from the entrance to the trailhead for Beusnita Waterfall. The hike from the trailhead to the waterfall takes about 30 minutes, and the path is well-marked.

• Hiking

  After reaching the trailhead, you will begin your hike to Beusnita Waterfall. The trail is approximately 1.5 km long and takes around 30 minutes to walk. Follow the marked trail which leads through beautiful scenery, including lush forests and streams. Make sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes, and carry water and snacks. The waterfall is located at coordinates 44.9351736 latitude and 21.8034249 longitude, and once you arrive, you will be greeted by stunning views and the tranquil sound of flowing water.
