Car
If you are driving, start from the center of Cheile Nerei National Park. Head southeast on the DJ572 road. Follow the signs for Polovragi. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will reach Polovragi. Once in Polovragi, follow the local signs towards Cheile Oltețului. There is a small parking area available near the entrance to the gorge. Please be aware that parking may incur a fee of around 5 RON.

Public Transportation
To reach Cheile Oltețului by public transport, first take a bus from the nearest town in the park (e.g., Baia de Fier) to Târgu Jiu. From Târgu Jiu, transfer to another bus headed to Polovragi. The bus ride takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Polovragi, you can either walk (approximately 30 minutes) or take a taxi to the entrance of Cheile Oltețului. Be mindful of the bus schedules, as services may be limited on weekends.

If you are already in Polovragi, you can walk to Cheile Oltețului. From the center of Polovragi, head towards the local road marked for Cheile Oltețului. The walk is scenic and takes about 30 minutes. Ensure you wear comfortable walking shoes, as the path can be uneven in some places.
