Car
From Harghita, take DN12 toward Gheorgheni. Continue on DN12 for about 25 km until you reach the town of Borsec. Once in Borsec, follow the signs to the Ice Cave. There is a designated parking area near the entrance of the Ice Cave. Note that parking may incur a small fee, typically around 5 RON.
Public Transportation
Take a bus from Harghita to Gheorgheni. From Gheorgheni, transfer to a bus heading towards Borsec. The journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. After arriving in Borsec, you can either walk to the Ice Cave (about a 30-minute walk) or take a local taxi, which may cost around 20 RON. Ensure to check the bus schedules in advance as they can vary.
Walking
If you are in Borsec and prefer to walk, the Ice Cave is located approximately 2.5 km from the town center. Follow the main road leading to the cave, and look for signs directing you to the Ice Cave. The walk will take about 30 minutes, and the path is mostly level but can be uneven in places, so wear appropriate footwear.
