If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the city of Brașov, which is the nearest major city to Moldoveanu Peak. From Brașov, head southwest on DN1 towards Predeal. Continue on DN1 until you reach the town of Câmpina. From Câmpina, take DN1A towards Cheia. After passing through Cheia, continue driving until you reach the village of Măgura. From Măgura, follow the road signs towards the Făgăraș Mountains and the Moldoveanu Peak trailhead. The final stretch involves driving on a gravel road, so ensure your vehicle is suitable for such terrain. There is no specific parking fee, but be mindful of local regulations regarding parking in rural areas.

Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take a train or bus from Bucharest to Brașov. Trains run frequently from Bucharest North Station to Brașov and take approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Upon arriving in Brașov, you can use local buses or taxis to reach the town of Câmpina. From Câmpina, catch a bus heading towards Cheia, which will take you closer to the Făgăraș Mountains. You'll need to get off at Măgura and from there, you can either hike to the trailhead or arrange for a local taxi to take you to the Moldoveanu Peak trailhead. Be sure to check the local bus schedules beforehand as they may vary by season. The total cost for the train from Bucharest to Brașov is around 50-80 RON, and the bus fare from Câmpina to Cheia is approximately 10 RON.
