Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start your journey from the nearest city, Suceava. Head southwest on DN17 towards Vatra Moldoviței. Continue on DN17 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the village of Vatra Moldoviței. Follow the signs to Moldovita Monastery, which is located at the address Vatra Moldoviței 727595. There is free parking available near the monastery.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Moldovita Monastery via public transportation, take a train or bus to Suceava. From Suceava, head to the local bus station and look for a bus heading to Vatra Moldoviței. Buses run frequently, and the ticket fare is typically around 10 RON (approximately 2 USD). The bus ride will take about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Vatra Moldoviței, the monastery is a short 10-15 minute walk from the bus stop. Follow the signs, or ask locals for directions to the monastery.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more convenient option, you can take a taxi from Suceava directly to Moldovita Monastery. Taxis are readily available at the train and bus stations. The ride will take around 45 minutes and cost approximately 100-150 RON (around 20-30 USD), depending on traffic and the taxi service you choose.

• Walking

  For those already in Vatra Moldoviței, the monastery is accessible on foot. From the village center, head southeast towards the edge of the village where the monastery is located. It is about a 15-minute walk, and the path is well-marked with signs pointing towards Moldovita Monastery.
