Breathtaking Views at Viewpoint Piatra Rancii

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start by heading to the village of Rânca, which is the nearest access point to Viewpoint Piatra Rancii. From the center of Rânca, follow the DJ 674 road, which leads directly toward the mountains. After approximately 2 kilometers, you will find a parking area on your left side near the trailhead that leads to Piatra Rancii. Parking may be free, but check for any signage indicating costs.

• Hiking

  Once parked, you can start your hike toward Viewpoint Piatra Rancii. Follow the marked hiking trail that begins near the parking area. The trail is well-marked with signs and is a moderate hike taking about 1 to 1.5 hours to reach the viewpoint. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and bring water and snacks with you, as the trail can be steep in some areas.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer to use public transportation, take a bus to Rânca from the nearest city, Târgu Jiu. The bus service may not be frequent, so check the schedule in advance. Upon arriving in Rânca, follow the same directions as above to reach the parking area and hiking trail. Note that the bus fare will vary, so prepare some Romanian Lei for the ticket.
