Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Petrosani. Take the DN66 road towards Hateg. After approximately 25 kilometers, follow the signs to DN7A towards Ranca. Continue on DN7A for about 15 kilometers until you reach Cheile Jietului, which will be on your left. There is parking available near the entrance to the hiking area. Be aware that there may be a small parking fee, typically around 5 RON.
Public Transportation
To reach Cheile Jietului via public transportation, take a train or bus from larger cities such as Bucharest or Targu Jiu to Petrosani. From Petrosani, you can take a local bus that operates on the route towards Ranca. Ask the driver to stop at Cheile Jietului. The bus ride may cost around 10-15 RON. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary based on the day of the week.
Walking
For those already within the Parang Mountains, you can hike to Cheile Jietului from nearby trails. If you are in the vicinity of Ranca, take the marked hiking path towards Cheile Jietului. The hike is approximately 5 kilometers and can take around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your fitness level. Ensure you have appropriate hiking gear and enough water.
