Car
If you're driving to Munţii Parâng, start from the city of Sibiu. Take the DN1 road towards the town of Sebeş. After reaching Sebeş, switch to DN67C towards the town of Novaci. Continue on this road, which will take you through beautiful mountain scenery. As you approach the area, you will see signs directing you to Munţii Parâng. There are parking areas available near the hiking trails. Keep in mind that parking may incur a small fee, typically around 5 RON per day.
Public Transportation
To reach Munţii Parâng via public transport, take a train from Bucharest to Sibiu. The journey takes about 5-6 hours. From Sibiu, you can catch a bus to Novaci, which runs multiple times a day. Once in Novaci, you will need to hire a taxi or arrange for a local transfer to take you to the base of Munţii Parâng. Expect taxi fares from Novaci to the Parâng area to be around 50-70 RON. Make sure to check the bus and train schedules in advance as they may vary.
Hiking
For those already within the Parâng Mountains, you can find several marked hiking trails leading to Munţii Parâng. A popular route begins at the Rânca resort, where you can follow the blue trail markers. This hike is moderately challenging and offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks. Ensure you're equipped with proper hiking gear and check the weather conditions before setting out. It may take approximately 3-4 hours to hike to the summit depending on your pace.
