Car
If you are traveling by car, start by heading towards the town of Zalău, the capital of Sălaj County. From Zalău, take DN1H towards Jibou. After approximately 10 kilometers, you'll reach a fork; take the road towards Hida (DJ108C). Continue on this road for about 15 kilometers. Look for signs indicating 'Bălțeşti' and turn onto the unmarked road leading to the White Stones nature reserve. The route is scenic, and the last part may involve some unpaved roads, so drive carefully.
Public Transportation
To reach White Stones by public transportation, start at the Zalău train station. Take a train to Jibou. Upon arriving in Jibou, you will need to switch to a local bus that heads towards Hida. The bus may not run frequently, so check the schedule ahead of time. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the nearest stop to Bălțeşti. From there, you may need to walk about 3 kilometers to reach White Stones, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. There might be minimal bus fare, so keep some cash handy.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route and convenience, consider taking a taxi from Zalău to White Stones. The drive should take about 40 minutes and costs approximately 100-150 RON depending on the taxi company and traffic conditions. Ensure you confirm the fare before starting your journey.
