Car
If you are traveling by car from Sălaj to Peleș Castle, you will start your journey by getting on DN1 (E60). From Zalău, head southeast via DN1 towards Cluj-Napoca. Continue on this road for approximately 70 km until you reach the intersection near Turda. Follow the signs for DN1 towards Sibiu and continue on this road for about 90 km. After passing through Făgăraș, follow the signs for Sinaia. As you approach Sinaia, look for Aleea Peleșului 2, where the castle is located. There is parking available near the castle, but keep in mind that there may be a parking fee of around 5-10 RON (approximately $1-2).
Public Transportation (Train)
To reach Peleș Castle by train from Sălaj, first head to the Zalău train station. Board a train heading towards Bucharest. You will need to change trains at the Brașov station. From Brașov, take a regional train towards Sinaia. The train ride from Zalău to Brașov takes approximately 2 hours, and from Brașov to Sinaia, it takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Sinaia train station, exit and walk approximately 30 minutes to the castle, or take a local taxi for around 15 RON (approximately $3).
Public Transportation (Bus)
Another option is to take a bus. From Zalău, go to the local bus station and find a bus that goes to Sinaia. The bus journey will take about 3 hours and might require a change depending on the schedule. Once you arrive in Sinaia, you can walk to Peleș Castle, which is about a 20-minute walk from the bus station. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the bus station to the castle for around 10-15 RON (approximately $2-3).
