Car
If you are travelling by car, start from the nearest major city, Alexandria. Take the DN6 road heading south and continue for about 30 kilometers. Once you reach the town of Roșiorii de Vede, turn onto the DN52 road, which will lead you toward the village of Vârtoape. Continue on this road for approximately 12 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the unpaved road leading to Ostrovul Gâsca. Follow this unpaved road for about 5 kilometers, and you will arrive at the nature preserve. Be aware that there is no parking facility directly at the preserve, so you may need to park nearby and walk the last part.
Public Transportation
To reach Ostrovul Gâsca using public transportation, you can take a bus from Alexandria to Roșiorii de Vede. Buses are available from the main bus station, and the journey takes about 30 minutes, costing around 10 RON. Once in Roșiorii de Vede, you will need to take a taxi or arrange for a local transport service to take you to the nature preserve, as there are no direct public transport options to Ostrovul Gâsca. The taxi ride should cost approximately 50 RON for the 12 kilometers to the preserve.
