Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Tulcea. Drive onto Strada 14 Noiembrie and follow it until you reach the intersection with Strada Gh. Doja. Take a left onto Strada Gh. Doja, and continue straight until you reach Strada Fraților. Turn right onto Strada Fraților. Cetatea Aegyssus will be on your left at Strada Fraților 25. The drive should take approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic.

    To reach Cetatea Aegyssus using public transportation, head to the Tulcea Bus Station (Autogara Tulcea). From there, take bus number 1 or 2, which typically runs every 30 minutes. Ask the driver to stop at 'Strada Fraților' or look for the stop named after the fortress. Once you get off, walk about 5 minutes along Strada Fraților towards the address 25, where you will find the fortress entrance.

The fortress will be located about 200 meters down this road at Strada Fraților 25. The walk should take around 20-25 minutes.
