Getting There

Car
From the center of Vâlcea, head south on DN67 towards Brezoi. Continue on DN67 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the town of Brezoi. In Brezoi, follow the signs for M 8 (the road towards Voineasa). Drive along M 8 for about 3 kilometers until you see a small parking area on the right side of the road near the entrance to the hiking trail leading to Cascada Gardului. Be aware that there may be a small parking fee, so have some cash ready.

Public Transportation
From Vâlcea, take a bus or a train to Brezoi. Buses are available from the central bus station in Vâlcea, and the journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Brezoi, you can either walk or take a taxi to the starting point of the hiking trail, which is approximately 3 kilometers away on M 8. If you choose to walk, follow M 8 until you find the trailhead on the right side of the road. Be prepared for a short hike to reach the waterfall.

Once you have parked your car or arrived in Brezoi, follow the marked trail from the parking area. The hike to Cascada Gardului is approximately 1.5 kilometers and takes about 30 minutes. The path is well-marked and offers beautiful views of the surrounding nature. Wear good hiking shoes, as the terrain can be uneven and slippery in places.
