If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Vâlcea and head towards Baia de Fier. Take DN67 towards Baia de Fier. The journey will take about 1 hour depending on traffic. Once you reach Baia de Fier, follow the signs pointing to Pădurea Colorată. The location is approximately 10 minutes from the town center. There is no entry fee for parking.

For those using public transportation, you can catch a bus from the main bus station in Vâlcea to Baia de Fier. The bus leaves several times a day and the journey takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance as it may vary. Once you arrive in Baia de Fier, you can either walk to Pădurea Colorată, which is about a 30-minute walk, or you can take a local taxi to the site, which should cost around 20-30 RON. There is no entry fee once you reach Pădurea Colorată.
