Getting There

Walking
From the center of Gisenyi, head towards the main road (A1). Walk along Avenue de la Révolution until you reach the roundabout. Continue straight on the A1 road towards Rubavu. You will pass by several local shops and markets. Keep walking for about 3 kilometers until you reach the sign for Nyakinama. From there, follow the local signs towards Volcanoes Forest Camp, which is about another 2 kilometers up the road. The path may become less urban, so keep an eye out for the entrance, which is marked with a sign.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Gisenyi. Head towards Avenue de la Révolution and take the A1 road towards Rubavu. Cycle for approximately 5 kilometers, passing by local landmarks and small villages. Look for the turn-off towards Nyakinama and follow the signs to Volcanoes Forest Camp. The ride should take about 20-30 minutes, depending on your speed. Be cautious of the road conditions, as they may vary.

Motorcycle Taxi (Moto)
Find a motorcycle taxi (moto) in Gisenyi. Tell the driver you want to go to Volcanoes Forest Camp in Nyakinama. They will take you along the A1 road towards Rubavu. The journey will take around 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting your ride. The driver should know the exact location of the camp, so feel free to ask them for any tips on the way.
