Getting There

Walking
Start at the central Gisenyi bus station (Gisenyi Terminus). From the bus station, head southeast on Avenue du Lac towards Lake Kivu. Walk along the lakefront promenade, enjoying the scenery. Continue walking until you reach the junction with Avenue de la Révolution. Turn left onto Avenue de la Révolution and keep walking straight for about 10-15 minutes. You will see the Gorilla Statue in a small park area on your right, located along the avenue.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Gisenyi. Begin at the central Gisenyi bus station and ride southeast on Avenue du Lac, following the lakeside path. You'll enjoy fresh air and views of Lake Kivu. After about 5 minutes, merge onto Avenue de la Révolution. Ride straight for approximately 10 minutes, and the Gorilla Statue will be on your right, set in a small park area.
