    From the center of Gisenyi, head south towards Avenue du Lac. Continue walking straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit to the right onto Avenue de la République. Walk along this road for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Avenue de l’Indépendance. Turn left onto Avenue de l’Indépendance and continue walking for approximately 800 meters until you see signs for Nyanza Genocide Memorial. Follow the signs, and after about 200 meters, you will reach the memorial entrance.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Gisenyi. Start from the main market area and cycle south on Avenue du Lac. Continue cycling straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit to the right onto Avenue de la République. Pedal along this road for about 1 kilometer and then turn left onto Avenue de l’Indépendance. Continue cycling for approximately 800 meters, watching for signs for Nyanza Genocide Memorial. Follow the signs, and after about 200 meters, you'll arrive at the memorial.
