Walking
From the center of Karongi, head towards the main road (A0) and walk south until you reach the intersection with the road leading to the ferry terminal. Continue straight along this road for about 1 kilometer. When you see the local market on your left, take a right turn onto the path that leads to Kivu Lake. Follow the lakeside path for about 500 meters, enjoying the view of the lake on your left. Kandt House Museum is located on the opposite side of the lake, approximately another 1 kilometer along the lakeshore. You may need to ask locals for directions as you approach, as the museum is not directly visible from the lakeside path.

If you have rented a bicycle in Karongi, start at the main square and head south towards the main road (A0). Turn left onto A0 and cycle for about 2 kilometers until you reach the sign for the ferry terminal. Just past the terminal, take the first right onto a smaller road that runs parallel to the lake.
