From the Kibuye bus station, head southwest toward Avenue de la Paix. Continue straight until you reach the lakefront. Turn left and follow the lakeshore path. Keep walking along the water until you see the sign for Karongi Lake View Retreat on your right. The retreat is located directly by the lake, making it a scenic walk.

If you rent a bicycle, start at the Kibuye bus station and ride towards Avenue de la Paix. Follow the road as it curves along the lake's edge. Look for the sign for Karongi Lake View Retreat on your right after about 1.5 km. The route is mostly flat and offers beautiful views of Lake Kivu.
