Car
If you're driving from central Kigali, take the KN 5 Road towards the south. Follow this road for approximately 30 kilometers. As you approach Nyanza, look for the signs directing you to the Nyanza Genocide Memorial. The memorial is located at the coordinates X3XV+42J, Kigali. There is usually parking available near the memorial, and no entry fee is required.
Public Transportation
From central Kigali, you can take a 'Moto' (motorcycle taxi) or a bus to Nyanza. For bus transport, head to the Nyabugogo Bus Station and board a bus heading to Nyanza or Huye. The bus fare is typically around 1,000 RWF (Rwandan Francs). The journey takes about 1-1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Nyanza, you may need to take a short motorcycle taxi (known as 'Moto') to reach the memorial directly. This ride should cost around 500-1,000 RWF.
Walking
If you are already in the Nyanza area, you can walk to the Nyanza Genocide Memorial from the town center. Head south on the main road (Avenue de la Paix) for about 1.5 kilometers. The memorial is well-signposted, and you will find it on your left side. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the walk may take about 20-30 minutes.
