Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, start from the main road along Muhazi Lake. Head towards Kabuga. Follow the signs leading to Kabuga and keep an eye out for the entrance to Umusambi Village, located approximately 3 kilometers from the center of Kabuga. There is ample parking available at the site.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Umusambi Village using public transportation, take a bus or shared taxi from any point around Muhazi Lake heading to Kabuga. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Kabuga town center. From there, you can either walk (around 30 minutes) or hire a motorcycle taxi (commonly known as 'moto') to take you directly to Umusambi Village. The fare for the moto should be around 1,000 Rwandan Francs.

  • Walking

    If you choose to walk from Kabuga town center to Umusambi Village, exit the town heading east on the main road. You will see signs for Umusambi Village along the way. The walk will take approximately 30 minutes. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
