Car
If you are traveling by car from the center of Mutara, head west on the main road towards Ruhengeri. Continue straight for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the junction near the town of Musanze. At the junction, take a left turn towards Ruhengeri. Continue on this road for about 10 kilometers. You will see signs directing you to Gorilla Guardians. The location is at HGCP+4HP, Ruhengeri, which is approximately 5 kilometers from Musanze. Look for the entrance on your right.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach Gorilla Guardians using public transportation, you can take a bus from the Mutara bus station to Ruhengeri. The journey typically takes around 45 minutes and costs approximately 1,000 Rwandan Francs. Once you arrive at the Ruhengeri bus station, you can hire a motorcycle taxi (commonly known as 'moto') to take you to Gorilla Guardians. The moto ride will cost around 2,000 to 3,000 Rwandan Francs and takes about 15 minutes. Make sure to show the driver the location address: HGCP+4HP, Ruhengeri.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a private taxi from anywhere in Mutara to Gorilla Guardians. Inform the driver that you want to go to HGCP+4HP, Ruhengeri. The fare will vary depending on your starting location, but you can expect to pay between 10,000 to 15,000 Rwandan Francs for a one-way trip.
