    Getting There

    Car

    If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Mutara. Head southeast on the main road (N2) for approximately 30 km until you reach the junction at Kirehe. Turn left onto the Rwamagana-Kirehe road and continue for another 15 km. You will then reach a sign for Uwinka Visitor Center. Follow the signs and take the gravel road leading uphill for about 5 km until you arrive at the center. Make sure your vehicle is suitable for off-road conditions as the last stretch of the road can be rough.

    Public Transportation

    To reach Uwinka Visitor Center using public transportation, you can take a bus or shared taxi from the main bus station in Mutara to Kirehe. The fare is approximately 1,000 RWF ($1 USD). Once you arrive at Kirehe, look for local motorcycle taxis (called 'moto') that can take you to Uwinka. The fare for a moto ride is about 2,000 RWF ($2 USD). Inform the driver you want to go to Uwinka Visitor Center; they will be familiar with the location. The ride will take around 20-30 minutes, depending on road conditions.
