Start at the center of Rubavu, near the Rubavu Market. Walk towards the main road leading out of the town, heading south. As you walk, you will pass several local shops and restaurants on your left and right. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the junction with the main highway (Route Nationale 4).

At the junction, turn right onto Route Nationale 4 and follow it for approximately 2 kilometers. You will see signs for Gatare and Kanyinya. Keep an eye out for local transport options like motorcycle taxis (known as 'moto') if you prefer a quicker journey.

After 2 kilometers, you will spot a sign directing you to Kanyinya. Turn left onto the road that leads towards the Kanyinya Canopy Walk. The walk is scenic, and you may encounter locals along the way. Continue for about 500 meters until you reach the entrance of the Kanyinya Canopy Walk.
