If you are in central Rubavu, start at the Rubavu Market. Head south on Avenue du Lac towards the main road. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Avenue de la Paix. Turn left onto Avenue de la Paix and walk towards the lake. As you approach the lakeshore, you will see a path leading to the waterfront. Follow the path along the lake for a scenic view. After about 15 minutes of walking, turn right at the first intersection after the waterfront onto Avenue de l'Unite. This will lead you towards Kiyovu town roundabout. Keep walking straight until you see the roundabout ahead, where you will find local shops and eateries.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Rubavu. Start your journey from the Rubavu Market and head south on Avenue du Lac. Cycle straight until you reach Avenue de la Paix. Turn left onto Avenue de la Paix and continue cycling along the lake. Enjoy the beautiful views as you ride. After approximately 15 minutes, turn right onto Avenue de l'Unite. Continue cycling straight until you reach Kiyovu town roundabout. This route is mostly flat and offers a pleasant ride through the town.
