Walking
From the center of Ruhengeri, head south on Avenue du Commerce. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Avenue de la Paix. Walk until you reach the intersection with Avenue de l'Indépendance. Turn left onto Avenue de l'Indépendance and follow this road out of the city. After approximately 1.5 kilometers, you will come to a fork in the road. Keep right to stay on Avenue de l'Indépendance. After about 3 kilometers, you'll see a sign for Ntarama Genocide Memorial. The memorial is a short walk from the main road; follow the signs to reach it.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Ruhengeri. Start your journey by heading south on Avenue du Commerce. Continue to the roundabout and take the first exit onto Avenue de la Paix. Follow Avenue de la Paix for about 2 kilometers, then turn left onto Avenue de l'Indépendance. Cycle straight for approximately 3 kilometers. Keep an eye out for the Ntarama Genocide Memorial sign, which will guide you to the entrance, just off the main road.
Motorcycle Taxi (Moto)
To take a motorcycle taxi, find a nearby moto stand in Ruhengeri. Inform the driver that you want to go to the Ntarama Genocide Memorial. The driver will take you along Avenue du Commerce, through the roundabout, and onto Avenue de l'Indépendance. The ride should take around 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. The driver will drop you off at the entrance of the memorial, where you can begin your visit.
