Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the center of Ruhengeri town, where you can find the main bus station. Head northeast on Avenue de la Révolution towards Avenue du 1er Novembre. Continue straight for about 1.2 km until you reach the intersection with Musanze-Kinigi Road (also known as RN4). Turn left onto Musanze-Kinigi Road and continue walking for about 7 km. You will pass by several local shops and villages along the way. Keep an eye out for the signs directing you to Kinigi. As you approach Kinigi, you will see the Tiloreza Volcanoes Ecolodge on your left. The entrance is clearly marked, and it is a short walk from the main road to the lodge.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bicycle in Ruhengeri. Start from the center of town and head northeast on Avenue de la Révolution. After about 1.2 km, turn left onto Musanze-Kinigi Road (RN4). The road is fairly straightforward, and you will cycle through beautiful landscapes for approximately 7 km. Look out for the signs to Kinigi, and once you see the lodge on your left, you can park your bicycle at the entrance.

  • Motorbike Taxi (moto-taxi)

    From any location in Ruhengeri, you can easily hire a motorbike taxi (moto-taxi). Simply tell the driver 'Tiloreza Volcanoes Ecolodge' or show them the address: Musanze-Kinigi Road Ruhengera, Kinigi. The ride will take around 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. The driver will take you directly to the lodge's entrance. Ensure you agree on the fare before starting your journey.
