From the center of Muhanga, start at the Muhanga Bus Station. Exit the station and head south on Avenue du Commerce for approximately 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Avenue de la Paix. Turn left onto Avenue de la Paix. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the main road (National Road 1). Cross the road carefully and follow the signs leading towards Ruhashya. After crossing, take the dirt path that leads downhill towards the village of Ruhashya. Follow this path for approximately 2 kilometers. You will see local homes and farms along the way. As you approach Ruhashya, you will see directional signs pointing to the Ruhashya Genocide Memorial. Follow the signs for another 300 meters until you reach the memorial.

Start from the Muhanga town center and rent a bicycle if you haven’t already. Head towards Avenue du Commerce and cycle south for about 500 meters to reach Avenue de la Paix. Take a left turn and continue cycling straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the National Road 1. Carefully cross the road and take the dirt path leading downhill toward the village of Ruhashya. Maintain a steady pace as you navigate the path for about 2 kilometers. Look for directional signs as you approach Ruhashya village. Follow the signs for another 300 meters until you reach the Ruhashya Genocide Memorial.

Motorbike Taxi (Motos)
To take a motorbike taxi (moto) from the center of Muhanga, head to the designated moto taxi stand located near the Muhanga Bus Station. Inform the driver that you want to go to Ruhashya Genocide Memorial. They will take you along Avenue du Commerce heading south for about 500 meters, then turn left onto Avenue de la Paix. After about 1 kilometer, they will navigate to the National Road 1 and cross it carefully. The driver will then take the dirt path leading downhill toward Ruhashya. This ride should take about 15-20 minutes in total, depending on traffic. The moto will drop you off at the entrance of the Ruhashya Genocide Memorial.
