The most straightforward route is to take the RN1 road heading north. Continue on this road for about 90 kilometers until you reach the town of Ruhengeri. Once you are in Ruhengeri, follow the signs for Gorilla Guardians, which is located at the coordinates HGCP+4HP. The parking area is available nearby, but be aware that you may need to pay a small fee for parking.
Public Transportation
To reach Gorilla Guardians via public transportation, start by taking a bus or shared taxi from any major bus station in Southern Province heading to Ruhengeri. The journey usually takes around 2-3 hours depending on traffic, and costs approximately 2,000 RWF. Once you arrive at the Ruhengeri bus station, you can hire a motorcycle taxi (known locally as 'moto') to take you directly to Gorilla Guardians. The moto ride should cost around 1,000-1,500 RWF. Ensure to communicate the destination to the driver clearly.
