Car
If you're driving from Gisenyi, take the RN4 road heading south towards Kibuye. Continue on this road for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the town of Kibuye. From Kibuye, take the RN10 road towards Nyundo and follow it for about 20 kilometers until you reach the junction at Nyundo. Here, you will take a left turn onto the RN12 road. Continue on this road for another 15 kilometers. As you approach Ruhindi, look for signs indicating the mountain peak. Ensure your vehicle has good ground clearance, as the last stretch may involve rough terrain.
Public Transportation
To reach Ruhindi via public transport, start at the main bus station in Gisenyi. Board a bus heading to Kibuye, which typically costs around 1,500 Rwandan Francs. The journey will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive in Kibuye, transfer to a bus or motorcycle taxi (moto) heading towards Nyundo. The moto ride to Nyundo will cost about 1,000 Rwandan Francs and takes around 30 minutes. Upon reaching Nyundo, ask for a moto taxi that can take you to Ruhindi's base. The moto ride will cost approximately 2,000 Rwandan Francs and may take about 20 minutes, depending on the road conditions.
