Getting There

  • Walking

    Start your journey at the Sandy Point Town Square. From the Square, head east on Main Street (the main road through town) for about 5 minutes until you reach the intersection with the Unnamed Road. You will pass local shops and eateries along the way, which may be of interest. At the intersection, look for the signs leading towards the historical sites. Turn left onto Unnamed Road and continue straight for approximately 10 minutes. You will see the Prince of Wales Bastion on your right. The bastion is well-marked and has a small path leading up to it.

    Another option is to start from the Sandy Point Police Station. Exit the station and head west on the same road you came in on. After about 3 minutes, turn right onto a smaller road that leads towards the coastline. Continue along this path until you reach the waterfront. Once there, turn left and follow the coastal path for about 15 minutes. Eventually, you will reach the entrance to the Prince of Wales Bastion, which is located slightly inland from the coast.

    If you are near the Sandy Point Methodist Church, begin there. Head south on Church Street, which will lead you toward the main road. After about 5 minutes, cross over to Main Street and turn left. Walk along Main Street until you reach the intersection with the Unnamed Road. Turn right onto Unnamed Road and walk straight for approximately 10 minutes. The bastion will be on your right.
