Getting There

Walking
From the center of Vieux Fort, head northwest on the main road towards the Vieux Fort Square. Continue straight until you reach the junction with the road leading to the airport (Hewanorra International Airport). Take a left at this junction. Follow the road for about 1 km, passing by the airport on your right. When you see the sign for Des Cartier Trail, take a right turn onto the dirt road. The trailhead will be a short walk down this road on your left.

Public Transport
From Vieux Fort Square, board a minibus heading towards Laborie. Inform the driver you would like to stop at Des Cartier Trail. The journey should take about 15 minutes. Once you reach the area near the trail, exit the minibus and walk back along the road for a short distance until you see the entrance for Des Cartier Trail on your left.

Bicycle Rental
If you are renting a bicycle in Vieux Fort, start from Vieux Fort Square and ride northwest towards the airport road. Follow the same route as if walking, but on your bike. The ride should take around 10 minutes. Once you reach the dirt road leading to Des Cartier Trail, park your bike at the entrance and enjoy your hike.
