Walking
From the center of Georgetown, head south towards the waterfront. Make your way to the main road, which is the main thoroughfare of the town. Turn left onto the main road (also known as the Windward Highway) and continue walking along the road. Keep an eye out for local signs or ask locals for directions to Cumberland Beach. Walk for approximately 30-40 minutes, enjoying the local scenery and shops along the way. As you approach the beach area, the road will lead you to a pathway that descends towards the beach. Follow this path to reach Cumberland Beach.
Public Transport
Start at the main bus terminal in Georgetown. Look for any minibus heading towards Cumberland or the nearby villages. Confirm with the driver that they stop near Cumberland Beach. The bus ride should take around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Cumberland, ask the driver or locals for the best way to reach the beach, which is typically a short walk from the main road. Follow the signs or directions given to you to find the beach entrance.
Bicycle Rental
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from a local shop in Georgetown. Once you have your bike, head south towards the main road (Windward Highway). Cycle along the road for about 30 minutes, enjoying the views of the coastline. When you reach Cumberland, look for signs or ask locals for the route to the beach. There may be paths leading directly to the shore from the main road.
