Start at the Fagamalo village center, where you can find local shops and cafes. Head north on the main path towards the coast, following the North Coast Road (N Coast Rd). Continue walking for about 20-30 minutes. As you walk, enjoy the scenic views of the ocean on your right. Keep an eye out for local signage that indicates the direction to Mataolealelo Spring. When you reach the intersection with a smaller road branching off to the left, take that road. It will lead you towards the spring. After a short distance, you will see a pathway leading into the lush greenery, which will lead directly to Mataolealelo Spring.
Biking
If you have access to a bicycle, start from the center of Fagamalo and head north on North Coast Road (N Coast Rd). This route is about 2 km long and should take approximately 10-15 minutes biking. Make sure to ride at a comfortable speed and be cautious of any pedestrians. After about 2 km, look for a smaller road to your left that leads towards the jungle area. Follow that road; it will lead you directly to the entrance of Mataolealelo Spring.
Hiking
For those seeking a more adventurous route, you can hike through the surrounding hills. Start at the Fagamalo village center and head towards the mountain trails. Follow the trails that lead northward, and look for markers or local hikers to guide you. The hike can be steep at times, so wear appropriate footwear and carry water. After a good hike of about 1-2 hours, keep an eye out for signs pointing towards Mataolealelo Spring. Eventually, you’ll come across a beautiful, scenic path that leads you straight to the spring.
