Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, head towards Tafua-tai from your current location in Gaga'emauga. Follow the main road (often referred to as the 'ring road') and look for signs directing you to Tafua-tai. As you approach Tafua-tai, you will reach a point near the coordinates 6P8X+39. Continue on the main road until you see the access road leading to Mauga Tafua Lookout. This road is not paved but is accessible for most vehicles. Park your car at the trailhead where you will see a sign indicating the lookout trail.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, look for a local bus or shuttle service that runs routes towards Tafua-tai. These services usually depart from main hubs in Apia or other areas in Samoa. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Tafua-tai. Once you arrive in Tafua-tai, ask locals for directions to the Mauga Tafua Lookout trailhead—most residents are familiar with it. From there, you may need to walk a short distance to reach the trailhead leading to the lookout.

• Hiking

  After parking your car or disembarking from public transport, you will need to hike approximately 15-30 minutes on a well-marked trail to reach the Mauga Tafua Lookout. The trail may be steep in certain areas, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
