Getting There

Car
From Lagoa Azul, head north on the main road, following signs towards Porto Alegre. Continue for approximately 10 km until you reach a small village. After passing through the village, look for a dirt road on your right marked with a local sign for 'Cascata Gruta'. This road can be quite bumpy, so drive cautiously. Follow this dirt road for about 3 km until you reach a small parking area near the entrance to Cascata Gruta. The hike to the waterfall starts from here.

Public Transportation
Take a local minibus (known as 'táxi colectivo') from Lagoa Azul to Porto Alegre. The fare is approximately 1,500 Dobra (the local currency). Once in Porto Alegre, ask the driver or locals about a connection to the village near Cascata Gruta. You may need to transfer to another minibus or walk about 1 km to reach the dirt road leading to the waterfall. Once you are on the dirt road, follow it for about 3 km to reach the parking area near Cascata Gruta.

If you prefer to walk, start from the Lagoa Azul center and head north along the main road towards Porto Alegre. After about 10 km, you will reach a small village. From there, ask for directions to the dirt road leading to Cascata Gruta. The hike from the village to the waterfall is about 3 km.
